This blog is for the batch of Systems 07-09 to get into the past and remember our glorious days. This is also for new grads to understand how students are groomed at SCIT. Its not about placement, its about the experience of individual @ SCIT.
Welcome to the world of
Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology - A Premier IT B-School.
It is a premier IT B-School nurturing IT grads to get the hold of Management. Students here understand how IT can help to not only support business, but to run it. It's a good and creative blend of the advancing Technology and continually changing businesses.
It groom students to become a leader in technology in any domain. It help students to understand the technology - old or new, and help to develop a managerial view on the use of that technology.
Unlike other MBA colleges, it does not put students in pressure at early stage of your college. But slowly and gradually it prepare students to tackle the pressure in a right way. Its not necessary that "Biggies" follow the schedule of morning 7 to night 10, so all the colleges should also do the same. Initially when we were studying, we also thought the same way. But we realize now that @ MBA you don't have to learn only about handling pressure and managing time, but its also about building the concepts, its also about people management. Time management and stress management is of course a part of our learning and that we have definitely learn at our college (Subu & Rohi you were the inspiration).
Learning at SCIT is very well organized, technology understanding and management understanding is very well segregated.
Solving case studies and providing solution has always been great in those 2 years. Thanks to Mayank, Subu, Diwakar, Abhishek (-for java) and list continues. I apologies to other for not mentioning their names. I know at some or other point all have contributed in adding knowledge to others, but they were the major contributors.
Here its really fun solving case studies and giving presentations, understanding the point of view of others. Here people don't compete but learn and discuss from others (excluding some). Students never feel pressure while giving presentation. The biggest example is Rahul Ingle, loves cracking jokes while starting presentation.
Preparing for exams is every time a fun, as some people studies a lot while some read only for two hours. The point is, even if any one don't read he will be able to clear exam (exceptions will be there) because we are strong with concepts.
Exams here is about: "Togetherness". We all together decide and study only selected topic. "We all will study this only, nothing less and nothing more. But what if he or she will study that topic and if it comes in exam what will I do? Whatever, I will read this also & that also. Why to risk?" But than thanks to boys hostel, we all were up to some extent together. No offense to girls, but you were the initiators to bring new topics to read. And thanks to venky to get news or imp topics from various other branches particularly ITBM.
We have learn something new from some people, the leader was Amit Chakru. He tries to confuse professor by giving his answers with lots of BUZZ words, and we all fortunately learn about that (so that adds to continuously learning about new things).
Apart from all this fun we all got a very important thing from our college and its "Knowledge" & tremendous amount of awareness. Today i think almost all of us can take part in any of the discussion taking part in any of corporate life.
I am proud to clarify one thing that we all have great skills of providing solution and its only because of our Director Ma'am, Prof. Shaila Kagal. The way she taught us Design case studies, about building solution and defining problem was brilliant. Some other brilliant professors like Prof. SVK Bharti (SAP R/3 & EBS & of course General Ledger), Prof. Prasun Singh (E-business/commerce), Prof. Manoj (for grilling on data-warehousing/Data mining and DBMS) & Prof. Sadhana Ghalasi (SOA) & many more have contributed really well to upgrade our knowledge and grill us to become leader in IT industry.
Last but not the least, Systems 07-09 was fortunate to have a greatest strength in our class, that made our journey of MBA remarkable and outstanding, and that was, our very great - our own CR: Pumping pashankar - Mr. Rohi. He has always been a excellent example of a leader. He taught us how to unite your team, your people, whatever the condition may be. We never need a professor to teach us leadership, we had a true example in front of us. Rohi you were, are and will be a true leader.
I seriously apologies, if i have missed anything to mention or if my any comment has caused any inconvenience to any of us.
